New 2017 Temple Presidents Called for Cedar City Utah Temple and Tucson Arizona Temple

The First Presidency has called the following two new temple presidents and matrons.

Cedar City Utah Temple

JoAnn D. and Daniel M. Jones

Daniel Macfarlane Jones, 71, Greens Lake Ward, Cedar City Utah Stake, called as president of the new Cedar City Utah Temple. President Jones’s wife, JoAnn Duncan Jones, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a regional public affairs specialist, temple ordinance worker, and sealer. He is a former Area Seventy, counselor in the St. George Utah Temple presidency, president of the Australia Perth Mission, stake president, bishop, and patriarch. A retired administrator of the Church Educational System, he was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Homer Swapp and Barbara Bell Macfarlane Jones.

Sister Jones serves as a regional public affairs specialist and as a temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband as he presided over the Australia Perth Mission. She is a former assistant to the matron of the St. George Utah Temple, stake Relief Society and Young Women president, stake Young Women presidency counselor, and ward Relief Society and Primary president. She was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Gail B and Audrey Jones Houchen Duncan.

Tucson Arizona Temple

James M. and Marina H. Moeller

James Michael Moeller, 74, Tanque Verde Ward, Tucson Arizona Stake, called as president of the new Tucson Arizona Temple. President Moeller’s wife, Marina Evelyn Harrison Moeller, will serve as temple matron. He serves as a temple sealer and Sunday School teacher. He is a former Area Seventy, president of the Utah Salt Lake City Mission, regional representative, stake president, patriarch, bishop, and senior missionary. A retired attorney, he was born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Theodore L. and Ruth Moeller.

Sister Moeller serves as a temple ordinance worker and Sunday School teacher. She served with her husband as he presided over the Utah Salt Lake City Mission and is a former stake Primary president, stake Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and senior missionary. She was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, to Daniel Bird Harrison and Marina Aulizia Joines.
