The Old Testament Visual Resource DVD set is now available in 11 languages with another 10 languages to follow shortly.

American Sign Language, Cantonese, English, French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Samoan, Spanish, and Ukrainian are ready to order. The DVD will be released in an additional 10 languages—Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Indonesian, Norwegian, Russian, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, and Tongan—by the end of 2011.

The set of three DVDs has more than 300 visual resources and 54 videos to guide members through their study of the Old Testament.

The first two discs contain interactive charts, videos, paintings, and quotations from Latter-day prophets and apostles. The third disk contains Old Testament Stories for  children. This is a non-animated video recording of the illustrations and narrated text from Old Testament Stories (item #31118000 at store.ChurchofJesusChrist.org).

The Old Testament Visual Resource DVDs are also a great tool for seminary instructors to use in the classroom.

“[Teachers] can find material on the DVDs that [supplement] the scriptures they are teaching and use it as an instructing tool,” said David Van Leeuwen, a Seminaries and Institutes of Religion supervisor.

Each visual resource is accompanied by a scripture study activity that can be used in conjunction with personal or family study and provide an interactive way to broaden individuals’ understanding of the Old Testament.

“It is an amazing resource that everyone can use, but unfortunately, not a lot of people know about it,” seminary and institute visual curriculum designer Justin Lether said.

The Old Testament Visual Resource DVDs can be found at Church Distribution Centers or online at store.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
