President Russell M. Nelson and his wife, Sister Wendy Nelson, wave to members on June 8, 2018, in Edmonton, Alberta. President Nelson and Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will be in central and eastern Canada August 17–19.

With three devotionals in as many cities and in as many days, President Russell M. Nelson will meet with Saints in central and eastern Canada in mid-August, with stops planned for Winnipeg, Manitoba; Montreal, Quebec; and Hamilton, Ontario.

Scheduled for August 17–19, the trip follows a similar three-devotional tour conducted in June in the province of Alberta. (See related story.)

Joining President Nelson will be his wife, Sister Wendy Nelson; Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; and his wife, Sister Kathy Andersen.

The planned devotionals and locations are:

  • Friday, August 17, 7 p.m., in Winnipeg, at the Winnipeg Manitoba Stake Center. That meeting—the only one of the three to be held in a Church building—will be broadcast to all other meetinghouses in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, and the part of Minnesota pertaining to the Fort Frances Ontario District.
  • Saturday, August 18, 6 p.m., in Montreal, at the Palais de congress de Montréal.
  • Sunday, August 19, 6 p.m. in Hamilton, Ontario, at the First Ontario Center.

The June 8–10 trip to Alberta included daily stops and devotionals in Edmonton, Calgary, and Raymond, with President and Sister Nelson accompanied by Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Melanie Rasband. (See related story.)

It was a homecoming of sorts for Sister Nelson, who grew up in Raymond and later lived, studied, and worked in Calgary.

The August itinerary will be the third major international trip by President Nelson since he was ordained as President of the Church earlier this year on January 14 and sustained at April 2018 general conference.

Just after that conference, he and Sister Nelson—joined by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Patricia Holland—embarked on a worldwide tour that included stops in London, England; Nairobi, Kenya; Harare, Zimbabwe; Jerusalem, Israel; Bengaluru, India; Bangkok, Thailand; Hong Kong; and Laie, Hawaii.

With its 10 provinces and three territories, Canada is home to nearly 200,000 members in 496 congregations as well as eight temples and seven missions.
