President Packer Returns Home after Fainting Spell

Following the dedication of a renovated chapel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Sunday, June 19, 2011, President Boyd K. Packer, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, had a brief fainting spell.

Church Public Affairs released this statement on Sunday: “President Packer had a brief fainting spell after a speaking assignment today in Massachusetts. He was taken to a local hospital for observation and is resting comfortably.”

On Monday afternoon Scott Trotter, spokesman for the Public Affairs Department, said, “President Packer is feeling better and has been released from the hospital. He is flying home this afternoon and is grateful for the expressions of concern for his well being.”
