Announcement of Newly Called Mission Presidents

Eight new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July of 2014.

Peru Lima East Mission

John Wallace Boswell III, 50, and Susan Landers Boswell, five children, Bentonville 3rd Branch, Rogers Arkansas Stake, succeeding President Nelson Ardila Vásquez and Sister Liliana Duran de Ardila. Brother Boswell serves as a ward Young Men president and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, temple ordinance worker, seminary teacher, and missionary in the Venezuela Maracaibo Mission. Senior vice president of marketing and e-commerce, Sam’s Club. Born in Provo, Utah, to John Wallace Boswell and Nancy Joyce Nielsen.

Sister Boswell serves as a seminary teacher and is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Murray, Utah, to James Milo Landers and Jean Margaret Godfrey.

Brazil São Paulo South Mission

Phillip Elijah Broadbent, 64, and Laura Jean Broadbent, five children, River Heights Ward, Meridian Idaho North Stake, succeeding President John S. Tanner and Sister Susan W. Tanner. Brother Broadbent is a former bishop, high priests group leader, counselor in a bishopric, ward Young Men president, stake Young Men presidency, stake mission president, and missionary in the Brazil Central Mission. Chief financial officer and general counsel, Scentsy, Inc. Born in Boise, Idaho, to Elijah Haslam Broadbent and Gladys Mary Hauntz.

Sister Broadbent is a former counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Primary president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency, ward Young Women adviser, and ward Relief Society teacher. Born in San Francisco, Calif. Daughter of Melvin Pack Mabey and June Pugmire.

South Africa Johannesburg Mission

Michael Austin Dunn, 55, and Linda Poulson Dunn, three children, Neff’s Canyon Ward, Salt Lake Mount Olympus Stake, succeeding President S. Craig Omer and Sister Catherine C. Omer. Brother Dunn serves as a ward Young Men president and is a former stake president, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher, and missionary in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission. Chief marketing officer, Surefoot. Born in Tucson, Ariz., to Austin Taggart Smith and Patricia Sargeant.

Sister Dunn serves as a ward nursery leader and is a former stake Young Women president, YSA adviser, gospel doctrine teacher, and Cub Scout leader. Born in Salt Lake City to Kenneth Ralph and Virginia Wilson Poulson.

Brazil São Paulo North Mission

Timothy Lowell Farnes, 44, and Linsey Anne Farnes, five children, Bridlewood Ward, Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake, succeeding President Marcus H. Martins and Sister Mirian B. Martins. Brother Farnes is a former counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a ward Young Men presidency, and missionary in the Brazil Porto Alegre Mission. Founder/CEO, Aspire Holdings. Born in Baltimore, Md., to Gary William and Mary Ellen Farnes.

Sister Farnes is a former ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, Relief Society instructor, and Primary teacher. Born in Provo, Utah, to David Roos and Judith Lynn Skinner.

Philippines Davao Mission

Efren Mariano Lamoglia, 51, and Marissa Macaballug Lamoglia, five children, Davao 1st Ward, Davao Philippines Stake, succeeding President Ferdinand Pangan and Sister Charmie Pangan. Brother Lamoglia is a former counselor in a mission presidency, stake president, district president, stake Sunday School president, and missionary in the Philippines Baguio Mission. Coordinator/institute director, Seminaries and Institutes of Religion. Born in Caloocan, Rizal, Philippines, to Fortunato Gomez and Teodora Dela Cruz Mariano Lamoglia.

Sister Lamoglia is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president, institute teacher, and missionary in the Philippines Davao Mission. Born in Ilagan, Isabela, Phillipines, to Honorato Tagao and Nelly Deray Macaballug.

Cote d’Ivoire Abidjan Mission

Marc Sahy, 55, and Akassiba Marie Sahy, seven children, Jean Folly Ward, Port-Bouet Cote d’Ivoire Stake, succeeding President Z. Dominique Dekaye and Sister Nathalie B. Dekaye. Brother Sahy serves as a stake president and is a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, branch president, youth and young single adult activities committee chairman, and temple ordinance worker. Manager, Sidai. Born in Assinie to Alphonse Sahy and Catherine Ehuia Magnan.

Sister Sahy serves as a temple ordinance worker and is a former ward Primary president and counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency. Born in Dabou to Akegnan Arsene Avo and Bosoma Amichia.

California Anaheim Mission

Steven William Taggart, 57, and Teresa Lynne Taggart, five children, Orem Windsor 5th Ward, Orem Utah Windsor Stake, succeeding President Bradford C. Bowen and Sister Valerie Bowen. Brother Taggart serves as a counselor in a stake presidency and is a former bishop, high councilor, stake executive secretary, high priests group leader, ward Young Men president, and missionary in the Argentina Rosario Mission. Director, Bachelor of General Studies and Evening Classes, BYU Division of Continuing Education. Born in Ogden, Utah, to James Albert and Betty Lee Howell Taggart.

Sister Taggart serves as ward Young Women adviser and is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, young single adult adviser, and family history consultant. Born in Boston, Mass., to Raymond Norell and Eleanor Lois Slosser Poulter.

Japan Kobe Mission

Phillip Keith Welch, 55, and Julie Nelson Welch, five children, Tokyo 1st Ward, Tokyo Japan South Stake (English), succeeding President Richard G. Zinke and Sister Janna M. Zinke. Brother Welch is a former counselor in a mission presidency, stake president, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, ward Young Men president, seminary teacher, and missionary in the Japan Kobe Mission.
