George Frideric Handel lived from 1685 to 1759 and composed well over 200 pieces of music. He is best known for his Messiah oratorio and its “Hallelujah Chorus.”

“I should be sorry if I only entertained them. I wish to make them better.” –George Frideric Handel

BYUTV has teamed up with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square to create a video featuring the Choir performing George Frideric Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.

The online video was shot in six takes using only handheld cameras to give a different look to the choir. The video was created to be shared for Christmas.

To learn more about Handel and his Messiah, visit the Liahona’s December 2010 article, “Handel and the Gift of Messiah,” which includes a different shareable video of the Choir performing the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
