LDSTech Invites Technologists to Help Build the Kingdom

  • March 31–April 1

The 2011 LDSTech Conference gives those with information technology skills—designers, developers, programmers, support staff, technical writers, testers, and so forth—an opportunity to meet to learn about and work on various projects that will further the growth of the Church.

The two-day conference—held on March 31 and April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Riverton, Utah, USA—will include presentations from two guest speakers. Ben Galbraith of “Ben and Dion”— who founded Ajaxian.com, headed developer tools at Mozilla, and ran developer relations at Palm—and Joel Dehlin, chief information officer for the Church and member of the Gartner Research Board, the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers CIO Strategy Exchange, and the Sierra Ventures CIO Board will address the group.

There is no charge for the conference, but seating is limited and early registration (available at http://tech.churchofjesuschrist.org/conf) is recommended. Attendees should bring a laptop computer.

Discount hotel rates are available for those who travel from outside of the Salt Lake City area.

Those who cannot attend the conference can still contribute their technological skills and participate in projects by building a talent profile on the LDSTech website, http://tech.churchofjesuschrist.org/. An LDSTech team member will contact volunteers and help them begin work on projects.
