New Temple Presidents: Ontario and South Carolina Temples
Two new temple presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service later this year.
Columbia South Carolina Temple
Stephen C. and Nancy R. onrad Lenker
Stephen Conrad Lenker Sr., 71, Sandhill Ward, Columbia South Carolina Stake, called as president of the Columbia South Carolina Temple, succeeding President Steven E. Baughman. President Lenker’s wife, Nancy Lee Raymond Lenker, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Geralee H. Baughman. President Lenker serves as a high councilor and as an assistant volunteer recorder and temple ordinance worker at the Columbia South Carolina Temple. He has served as president of the Albania Tirana Mission, director of the Hill Cumorah Visitors’ Center, district president, stake president’s counselor, bishop, and Church-service missionary. A retired teacher, he was born in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Fritz Karl and Hazel Gertrude Nelms Lenker.
Sister Lenker serves as a ward Relief Society president and temple ordinance worker at the Columbia South Carolina Temple. She served with her husband as he presided over the Albania Tirana Mission and as a Church-service missionary. She has also served as stake Relief Society and Young Women president. She was born in Paterson, New Jersey, to Russell Clark and Florence Elizabeth Winans Raymond.
Toronto Ontario Temple
Gordon K. and Judith E. Macmichael
Gordon Keith Macmichael, 69, Sault Sainte Marie 1st Ward, Sudbury Ontario Stake, called as president of the Toronto Ontario Temple, succeeding President Richard L. Norton. President Macmichael’s wife, Judith Kathleen Edwards Macmichael, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Joyce L. Norton. President Macmichael serves as a ward Sunday School president, ward website administrator, family history consultant, and temple ordinance worker in the Toronto Ontario Temple. He has served as a stake president, district president, bishop, and high councilor. A medical doctor, he was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Charles Harold and Doris Louise Randall Macmichael.
Sister Macmichael serves as a counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency and as a ward music chairman, family history consultant, and temple ordinance worker in the Toronto Ontario Temple. She has served as a ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary president. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Ernest Bertram and Bridget Roseleen Conway Edwards.
