The Giants of Kikondja

  • 24 November 2010

In the southeast corner of Democratic Republic of Congo, some Church members are willing to do whatever is necessary to be at their district conferences, including walking hundreds of miles.

The dirt road between the town of Kolwezi and the tiny village of Kikondja spans roughly 420 kilometers, or 260 miles, and transportation along that route is scarce. During the rainy season, the trek from Kikondja south to Kolwezi can seem much longer. None of this stops the Kikondja members from being not only on time, but alert and taking notes on the front row at the district conference.

Visit the South Africa country site to read more about the members who walk over 500 miles round trip to attend to attend district conference.
