If your holiday plans include attending one of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s Christmas performances December 8–10, don't wait to get your tickets, as this year’s ticketing process has changed.

On Saturday, October 15, at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Daylight Time), the free tickets will become available only at ChurchofJesusChrist.org/events. Tickets will not be available by phone or in person, and you can only request up to four tickets online.

Instead of the random selection distribution of tickets used in prior years, tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, which allows patrons to see which nights are available and know immediately which night they have received.

In past years, tickets have been distributed very quickly. Patrons who weren't able to obtain tickets can still stand by for last-minute seating each evening at the north gate on Temple Square beginning two hours before the concert start time of 8:00 p.m. A limited number of tickets also will be given away between now and the December concert dates. Subscribe to Choir Notes, the Choir’s weekly newsletter, to receive information about these ticket opportunities.

No tickets are required for the December 11 Christmas broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. Guests need to be in their seats by 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Center.

Acclaimed tenor Rolando Villazón will be the featured guest artist for the 2016 concert.

Acclaimed tenor Rolando Villazón will be the featured guest artist. “Rolando Villazón is one of the great singers of our time,” said music director Mack Wilberg. “Pairing his talent with that of the choir and orchestra will result in yet another majestic collaboration just as it did in our recent recording of Messiah.”

Villazón was one of four featured soloists on the choir and orchestra’s landmark recording of Handel’s Messiah, which was released earlier this year.

Past guests have included Broadway star Laura Osnes and British actor Martin Jarvis (2015), singer Santino Fontana and the Sesame Street Muppets (2014), and soprano Deborah Voigt and British actor John Rhys-Davies (2013).
