Self-Reliant Missionary Serves in Ghana
Sister Dian Robinson
In addition to financing his two-year mission, Sam also must provide resources for his sister while he is gone.
Elder Samson (Sam) Daniel Tlathi did more than just fill out missionary papers before his call to the Ghana Cape Coast Mission. Sam also built a new home for his family.
Several months before Elder Tlathi’s mission, his home was totally destroyed during a major winter rain storm. As a surprise to his family, he rebuilt the home for them.
Elder Tlathi has been providing financial support for his sister for several years. In addition to financing his two-year mission, Sam also must provide resources for his sister while he is gone.
In December 2011 Elder Tlathi left Port Alfred, South Africa, to serve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ghana Cape Coast Mission. However, Elder Tlathi started serving a “personal mission” much earlier when he shared his testimony of love for his Savior and Heavenly Father with friends, neighbors and loved ones.
Elder Samson Daniel Tlathi is another example of answering the call of a prophet to serve a mission for the Lord. Thank you, Elder Tlathi!
