Young Men in Bangalore Commit to Duty to God

  • 27 December 2010

More than 30 young men from the Bangalore India District gathered in the hills of Kanakapura to learn about the new Duty to God program and learn spiritual lessons from challenging physical actitivies. The young men used a rope and pulley system to cross a pond. They went for a morning run, hiked up a mountain, and learned to rappel. The activity was concluded with a testimony meeting.

The theme of the Bangalore India District’s first-ever Young Men camp was “Be Men.” Each of the young men committed to actively participate in the Duty to God program, prepare for a mission by assisting the full-time missionaries regularly, and attending daily seminary.

The young men learned a lot about themselves and each other as they braved crossing the pond, hiking the mountain, and making it through a stormy night.

“My friends calmed me and gave me courage,” said Hansen S., one of the young men. “I learned to face fear and trust my brothers.”
