Birth: Born Nov. 14, 1907 in Boise, Ada Co., Idaho to John William Hunter and Nellie Marie Rasmussen.

Marriage: Married Clara May (Claire) Jeffs on June 10, 1931 (died Oct. 9, 1983); married Inis Bernice Egan on Apr. 12, 1990.

Ordained an Apostle: Oct. 15, 1959, at age 51.

Became President: June 5, 1994, at age 86. Served 9 months (1994–1995).

Death: Died on Mar. 3, 1995, at the age of 87, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah.

1907 November 14   Born in Boise, Ada County, Idaho, to John William Hunter and Nellie Marie Rasmussen.
1924 Fall Age 17 Organized Hunter's Croonaders, a dance band.
1931 June 10 Age 23 Married Clara May (Claire) Jeffs (she died October 9, 1983).
1939 June 8 Age 31 Graduated from Southwestern Law School.
1940 April Age 32 Opened first law practice.
1940 September Age 32 Called as first bishop in El Sereno Ward.
1950 February 25 Age 42 Called as president of the Pasadena California Stake.
1951 Age 44 Served on building committee for Los Angeles California Temple.
1959 October 15 Age 51 Ordained an Apostle by President David O. McKay.
1964–1972 Age 56–64 Served as president of the Genealogical Society.
1965 January Age 57 Appointed president and chairman of the board of the Polynesian Cultural Center.
1966 Age 59 Supervised dedication of Granite Mountain Record Vault.
1969 August Age 61 Coordinated first church–sponsored World Conference on Records and the World Convention and Seminar on Genealogy.
1970 Age 62 Appointed Church historian and recorder.
1979 April Age 71 Authorized by First Presidency to negotiate purchase of property for BYU Jerusalem Center.
1979 October 24 Age 71 Attended and conducted the dedicatory services for the Orson Hyde Memorial Gardens and received Medal of the City from Jerusalem's mayor.
1985 November 10 Age 77 Set apart as Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
1988 June 2 Age 80 Set apart as president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
1989 May 16 Age 81 Jerusalem Center dedicated.
1990 April 12 Age 82 Married Inis Bernice Egan.
1994 June 5 Age 86 Became President of the Church.
1994 October 9 Age 86 Orlando Florida Temple dedicated.
1994 December 11 Age 87 Presided over creation of 2000th stake, the Mexico City Mexico Contreras Stake.
1995 January 8 Age 87 Bountiful Utah Temple dedicated.
1995 March 3 Age 87 Died in Salt Lake City, Utah.
