Winners of the 1974 Relief Society-Ensign Writing Contest

Winners of the 1974 Relief Society-Ensign short story and poetry contests have been selected and are as follows:

Short Story: First place ($100), Lael J. Littke, Pasadena, California, for “Nobody Looks at the Bass Player” (page 54 of this issue); second place ($75), Alice Morrey Bailey, Salt Lake City, Utah, for “The Little Town”; third place ($60), Janet B. Seegmiller, Brigham City, Utah, for “From Milk to Music.” The second- and third-place winners will appear in subsequent issues of the Ensign.

Poetry: First place ($50), Sandra A. Petree, Norman, Oklahoma, for “Jacob’s Seed” (page 52); second place ($40), Iris W. Schow, Brigham City, Utah, for “Christina” (page 53); third place ($30), Jean S. Marshall, Provo, Utah, for “Knowing the Song, Let Us Sing” (page 53).
