Lofty Enterprises

It is an interesting fact that astronomers boast a death rate of 15 to 20 percent below average. It seems that a keen interest in some lofty enterprise is about the most wholesome health tonic ever concocted. If the study of the stars will intrigue interest sufficient to lower the death rate, what would be the consequences of living the kind of life that says, “I will arise and go to my father”? (Luke 15:18.) In every experience, the directions that we need to go are forward and upward, and how fortunate we are if we can furnish a substantial part of our own motive power. …

We may rise through prayer. We can rise through study, industry, and faith. Each Sabbath day, God invites us to cease for a time in looking down to the earth and look up to him. We are closer to our Heavenly Father when we are lifting our attention above the earth.
