A Picture of True Stories

We wanted our children to learn about their great-grandparents, so my mother, brother, and I assembled a picture story book—a child’s version of their great-grandparents’ lives.

An artist in the family did black-and-white illustrations for each story, and a local offset printing press reproduced for us a 156-page, hardcover book. We eventually printed seventy-five copies, after our relatives heard about it and wanted copies for themselves.

The book has had a good effect on our family. It has not only drawn us closer together, but has also stimulated an interest in journal keeping and renewed our interest in genealogy.—April Love, Spanish Fork, Utah
