Saturday Morning, 1 October 1988 General Session

The Mormon Youth Chorus, directed by Robert C. Bowden, with organist Clay Christiansen, sang “Oh Say, What Is Truth?” by Melling/Jaques (Hymns, 1985, no. 272), “How Lovely Are the Messengers” by Mendelssohn (Oliver Ditson Co.), “What Glorious Scenes Mine Eyes Behold” by Beesley (Hymns, 1985, no. 16), “Hallelujah” from Mount of Olives by Beethoven (G. Schirmer, Inc.), “Now We’ll Sing with One Accord” by Daynes/Phelps (Hymns, 1985, no. 25), and “I Need Thee Every Hour” by Lowry/Hawkes (Hymns, 1985, no. 98). The congregation sang “Praise to the Man” by Phelps (Hymns, 1985, no. 27).

Saturday Afternoon, 1 October 1988 General Session

The Salt Lake Tongan Choir, directed by Sione T. Kinikini, with organist Clay Christiansen, sang “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” by Edwards/Medley (Hymns, 1985, no. 136; arr. Cundick, Sonos), “Come, O Thou King of Kings” by Pratt (Hymns, 1985, no. 59), “How Firm a Foundation” by Keen (Hymns, 1985, no. 85), and “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet” by Norton/Fowler (Hymns, 1985, no. 19). The congregation sang “Redeemer of Israel” by Lewis/Phelps (Hymns, 1985, no. 6).

Saturday Evening, 1 October 1988 Priesthood Session

A combined men’s choir from the Tabernacle Choir and the Mormon Youth Chorus, directed by Jerold D. Ottley and Robert C. Bowden, with organist John Longhurst, sang “Hark, All Ye Nations!” by Root/Monch (Hymns, 1985, no. 264; arr. Bowden, manuscript), “The Lord Is My Shepherd” by Koschat/Montgomery (Hymns, 1985, no. 108; arr. Dayley, Sonos), and “Praise the Lord” by Williams/Lyte, arr. Thomas (Ascherberg, Hopwood & Crew, Ltd.). The congregation sang “Do What Is Right” by Kaillmark (Hymns, 1985, no. 237).

Sunday Morning, 2 October 1988 General Session

The Tabernacle Choir, directed by Jerold D. Ottley and Donald H. Ripplinger, with organist Robert Cundick, sang “O Ye Mountains High” by Thompson/Penrose (Hymns, 1985, no. 34), “O Love That Glorifies the Son” by Wheelwright (Hymns, 1985, no. 34), “The Lord’s Prayer” by Robertson (Galaxy Music Corp.), “Let All Men Praise the Lord” by Mendelssohn (Oliver Ditson Co.), “Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah” by Hughes/Williams (Hymns, 1985, no. 83), and “How Great the Wisdom and the Love” by McIntyre/Snow (Hymns, 1985, no. 195). The congregation sang “Hope of Israel” by Clayson/Townsend (Hymns, 1985, no. 259).
