Now is the time to gather goldenrod, Queen Anne’s lace, thistles, seedpods, weeds, and many other outdoor autumn treasures. Beautiful decorator arrangements and bouquets can be made from things all around you.
After gathering materials, strip all leaves from stems. Tie flowers in small, loose bunches and hang upside down on coat hanger to dry.
Since flowers retain their color better in dark places, place them in a closet. However, be sure to leave the door slightly ajar so they can get some air.
To make your arrangements more attractive, spray a few flowers with gold or silver paint. Pine cones and nuts can also be gilded this way.
