Fall
October 1975

“Fall,” Friend, Oct. 1975, inside front cover

Fall

So this is fall? Of course it is!

The leaves know that.

They’re falling flat

And edgewise too.

And every falling way they sail

Is beautiful to see.

Some fall fast,

Some slowly fall,

Zigzagging any way at all

Until they lie all crisp and thin.

And that’s the time that I fall in—

Fall into any heap I see

And let the leaves fall over me!
