Milk Carton Boat

You will need: empty milk carton (quart or half-gallon), knife, paper plate, and crayons.

Rinse milk carton thoroughly. Using knife, cut down one long edge of carton and diagonally across the top and bottom (see illustration). Hinge open carton. Continue to fold carton back on itself and make a knife cut about one third of the way back from front of boat. The cut should go halfway through two thicknesses of carton and be angled slightly to match angle of paper plate edge (see illustration).

Fold open two boat halves and fit paper plate into slot to form sail. Many boats have sails with colorful decorations. You may want to color yours. Now take to the water!
