Wheelchair Song
December 1988

“Wheelchair Song,” Friend, Dec. 1988, inside back cover

Wheelchair Song

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack!

is the song that

my wheelchair sings.

I can’t run or jump,

skip rope or swing,

but I can

slalom down a hill

and make figure eights

in the driveway.

And I can be your friend

if you’ll let me.

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack!

Friendly

smiles

and helping

hands don’t

take away

stares or

stairs,

but they make

them less

important.

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack-a-ta

Whack!
