Frog Life

A frog’s life must be rather fun!

He never has to trot or run

But stays where it is green and cool,

Kerplunking in his swimming pool.

On a lily pad, he eats

By flicking his tongue to catch his meat.

Then, when daylight slips into night

And frogdom basks in pale moonlight,

He and his friendly comrades tune

And puff contentedly and croon

Till first faint promises of morning come.

And then they sing their last chug-rum.

No toil, no cares—it’s lives of ease

For frogs that do just as they please.
