My Dad, the Captain
June 1994

“My Dad, the Captain,” Friend, June 1994, 18–19

My Dad, the Captain

Honour thy father (Ex. 20:12).

  1. My dad is the captain of a tugboat.

  2. He wears a uniform and a hat.

  3. Sometimes he takes me with him on his tugboat.

  4. We see many kinds of boats in the harbor—freighters … carriers … submarines … ships.

  5. But my favorite boat is my dad’s tugboat.

  6. It is a very important boat. It pulls big ships out of the harbor.

  7. It pulls big ships into the harbor, and guides them safely to the pier to land.

  8. When I grow up, I want to be the captain of a tugboat, just like my dad!
