Latter-day Prophets

And he gave some, … prophets … ; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11–12).

We have been blessed by Heavenly Father with prophets to lead us and teach us in these last days. President Gordon B. Hinckley is the fifteenth prophet in this dispensation, and his name has now been added to the song “Latter-day Prophets” (Friend, April 1995, page 5). The last line is to read: Gordon B. Hinckley shows the way. We hear and follow his words today.

Instructions

  1. Learn the words to the song, then cut out the pictures of the prophets and put them in order as you sing their names.

  2. To learn a little bit more about these chosen men, match each drawing and the sentence underneath it (on page 25) with the correct prophet.

  3. During general conference, listen carefully to what President Hinckley asks that we do. Write those things down, paste his picture at the top of your list, and hang it where you can easily see it. The living prophet gives us important direction for our day.
