Honesty Quiz

In the story “Niya’s Choice” on the previous page, Niya was honest when she returned the extra change to the storekeeper. You can take this quiz to see if you are striving to be honest, or if honesty is something you need to work on.

  1. Your dad says you need to clean your room before you can play outside. You:

    1. Hide messy things under your bed and then go outside to play.

    2. Take time to clean your room and put things away before you go play.

  2. At the market you see a candy that you want, but you don’t have enough money to buy it. You:

    1. Put the candy in your pocket when no one is looking.

    2. Don’t take the candy. You can buy it another time when you have enough money.

  3. You studied hard for a test at school, but during the test you can’t remember an answer. You:

    1. Look at your neighbor’s paper and copy her answer.

    2. Leave the answer blank.

  4. You have plans to play with Desi tomorrow. Then Steven asks if you want to play tomorrow. Steven has a fun new game you’re excited to try. You:

    1. Tell Desi that something came up and you won’t be able to play, then go to Steven’s house.

    2. Tell Steven that you can play another day but not tomorrow. Or maybe the three of you can play together!

Try to work harder at being honest. Remember what My Gospel Standards says: “I will be honest with Heavenly Father, others, and myself.” Think about the choices Heavenly Father wants you to make. Even if the result of an honest choice doesn’t turn out the way you want, you will know that you chose the right.

If you chose mostly B’s …

Honesty is important to you. You try hard to be honest, even if it isn’t always easy. Heavenly Father is pleased when you are honest. When you’re at school, at home, or with your friends, being honest is always the best choice. Keep up the good work!
