Throwing Away Trash
Gracie P., age 9, Texas
At school we were given an assignment to find different words in magazines. My friend and I were looking through a magazine and came across an advertisement that showed a woman dressed immodestly. I knew I should tell our teacher, but my friend wanted to leave it in the magazine and ignore it. I decided to tell our teacher that the magazine she had given us had a bad picture in it. She said thank you, and put the advertisement in the trash. I’m glad I did the right thing, and that no one else had to see the bad picture.
Praying for Mom
Zildjian O., age 5, Wisconsin
When Zildjian was watching TV with his babysitter, he suddenly turned the TV off. When the babysitter asked him why, he said, “I want to make sure Heavenly Father can hear me pray.” He then prayed that his mother would return home safely in the heavy rainstorm that was happening outside. Zildjian’s mother was happy that he had been so thoughtful.
Feeling the Spirit
Ian S., age 10, California
I had been teaching my friend about the Church and the Holy Ghost. I showed him my favorite scripture that says, “By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things” (Moroni 10:5). When I read the verse to him I felt the Spirit so much. My friend really liked the scripture.
Kymora S., age 6, Wyoming
One Easter my family and I went to an Easter egg hunt. I was so excited because I had found so many eggs. My basket was full! Then I saw my friend. She only had a few eggs. She had hoped to find more. I thought it would be nice to give her some of my eggs. I felt glad I was able to share with her. I know I can be like Jesus by sharing and being kind.
Brilynn E., age 9, Arizona
A girl in my class wasn’t a member of the Church. Our Easter pageant was coming up, so I gave her an invitation. Her family went to the pageant. The next day when I went to school, she said her family had a good time. I felt a warm feeling in my heart for inviting them.
Benjamin S., age 7, Utah
My dad had knee surgery. I tried to help out by making him breakfast, getting him ice, moving pillows under his knee, and praying that his knee would get better. I know that all this made my dad happy. I love my dad.
