Building a Temple

One of the last tools used on a temple is a trowel. This tool is like a little shovel. It’s used to put the mortar into the temple’s cornerstone during a special ceremony on the day the temple is dedicated. General Authorities are the first to put the mortar around the cornerstone. Then children and other adults are often invited to help. Later, professional stonemasons make sure the mortar around the cornerstone is even and smooth.
