ʻOku ou fakamoʻoni ki he ngaahi tāpuaki maʻongoʻonga ko ia ʻo e fānaú pea mo e fiefia te nau ʻomi kiate kitautolu ʻi he moʻuí ni pea ʻi he taʻengatá.

ʻI he taimi ʻoku tau vakai ai ki he fofonga ʻo e fānaú, ʻoku tau sio ai ki ha foha pe ʻofefine ʻo e ʻOtuá ne tuʻu fakataha mo kitautolu ʻi he maama fakalaumālié.

ʻOku tau tui ki he ngaahi fāmilí pea ʻoku tau tui ki he ʻi ai e fānaú.

ʻI he taimi ʻoku fāʻeleʻi mai ai ha fānau ki ha husepāniti mo ha uaifi, ʻokú na fakahoko ʻa e konga ʻo e palani ʻa ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ke ʻomi ha fānau ki he māmaní. Naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEikí, “Ko ʻeku ngāue ʻeni mo hoku nāunaú—ke fakahoko e moʻui-taʻe-faʻa-mate mo e moʻui taʻengata ʻa e tangatá.”1 Kimuʻa ʻi he moʻui taʻe-faʻa-maté, kuo pau ke ʻi ai e moʻui fakamatelié.

Ko e fāmilí ko e tuʻutuʻuni ia ʻa e ʻOtuá. Ko e ngaahi fāmilí ʻa e uho ʻo e palani ʻa ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ʻi he māmaní pea ʻi hono kotoa ʻo e nofo taʻengatá. Hili hono fakahoko e malí ʻo fakatahaʻi ai ʻa ʻĀtama mo ʻIví, oku pehē ʻe he folofolá, “Pea naʻe tāpuakiʻi ʻa kinaua ʻe he ʻOtuá, pea folofola ʻa e ʻOtuá kiate kinaua, Fanafanau, mo fakatokolahi, mo fakakakai ʻa māmani.”2 Kuo fakahā ʻe he kau palōfita mo e kau ʻaposetolo ʻi hotau kuongá ni, “ʻOku fekauʻaki ʻa e fuofua fekau ne tuku ʻe he ʻOtuá kia ʻĀtama mo ʻIví pea mo e meʻa te na malava ʻi hona tuʻunga fakaemātuʻá, ko ha husepāniti mo e uaifi. ʻOku mau fakahā ai heni ʻoku kei tuʻu maʻu pē ʻa e fekau ko ia ʻa e ʻOtuá ki Heʻene fānaú ke nau fanafanau mo fakatokolahi ʻa māmaní.”3

Kuo teʻeki ai ke fakangaloʻi pe tuku ʻa e fekaú ni ki he tafaʻakí ʻi he Siasi ʻo Sīsū Kalaisi ʻo e Kau Māʻoniʻoni ʻi he Ngaahi ʻAho Kimui Ní.4 ʻOku tau fakahā ʻetau loto houngaʻia moʻoni ki he tui lahi ʻoku fakahā ʻe he ngaahi husepānití mo e uaifí (tautefito ki hotau uaifí) ʻi heʻenau loto fiemālie ke fāʻeleʻi ʻa e fānaú. Ko e fili ʻa e taimi ke maʻu ai ha fānaú pea mo e tokolahi ʻo e fānaú ko e meʻa pē ia ʻi he vahaʻa ʻo ha husepāniti mo ha uaifi pea mo e ʻEikí. Ko ha ngaahi fili ʻeni ʻoku toputapu—ko ha ngaahi fili ʻoku totonu ke lotua fakamātoato pea fakahoko ʻi he tui lahi.

Naʻe fai mai ʻe ʻEletā Sēmisi O. Meisoni ʻo e Kau Fitungofulú e talanoá ni kiate au ʻi he ngaahi taʻu lahi kuohilí: “He ʻikai ngalo e taimi ne fāʻeleʻi mai ai ʻema tama fika onó.

ʻOku lahi e ngaahi ʻaho faingataʻá. Naʻe heka hake ha faʻē kei siʻi mo haʻane fānau ʻe toko fitu ʻi ha pasi. Naʻe fehuʻi ange ʻe he tangata fakaʻuli pasí, “Fefine, ko hoʻo fānau kotoa ʻeni? Pe ko hoʻomou ō ʻo kaimeʻakai?”

ʻI he fakautuutu ko ia hono ʻeke ʻe he māmaní, “Ko hoʻo fānaú kotoa ʻeni?”

“Naʻá ku fakakaukau mo Malia ʻe fie maʻu ke ne kei ngāue pē kae lava ke ʻosi ʻeku ako ʻi he akoʻanga fakafaitoʻó.

Naʻá ku ngāue mālohi mo Malia pea naʻe fakaava mai ʻe he ʻEikí ʻa e matapā ʻo e langí.” Naʻe tāpuakiʻi ʻaki e fāmili Meisoní ʻaki ha toe fānau ʻe toko ua kimuʻa peá ne ʻosi mei he akoʻanga fakafaitoʻó ʻi ha taʻu ʻe fā mei ai.9

Ko ha taimi taʻemahino mo e taʻepau ʻeni ʻo e tuʻunga fakapaʻangá he funga ʻo e māmaní. Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni Tōmasi S. Monisoni ʻi he konifelenisi lahi ʻo ʻEpelelí: “Kapau ʻokú ke hohaʻa ki hono tokangaʻi fakapaʻanga ho uaifí mo e fāmilí, tuku muʻa ke u fakapapauʻi atu ʻoku ʻikai fakamā ia ke mo moʻui fakapotopoto. Meimei ko e ngaahi taimi faingataʻa pehení ʻokú mo toe vāofi ange ai, ʻi hoʻomo ako ke feilaulau mo fai ha ngaahi fili faingataʻá.”10

ʻOku hanga ʻe he fehuʻi ongo moʻoni ko ʻeni ʻa ʻEletā Kimipolo, “Ko fē hoʻo tuí?” ʻo ʻai ke tau vakai ki he ngaahi folofola māʻoniʻoní.

Naʻe ʻikai ke fāʻeleʻi e ʻuluaki fānau ʻa ʻĀtama mo ʻIví ʻi he Ngoue ko ʻItení. ʻI heʻena mavahe mei he ngoué, “Naʻe kamata ʻe ʻĀtama [mo ʻIvi] ke ngoueʻi ʻa e kelekelé. … naʻe ʻilo ʻe ʻĀtama ʻa hono uaifí, pea naʻá ne [fāʻeleʻi] … ʻa e ngaahi foha mo e ngaahi ʻofefine, pea [ʻi heʻenau tuí] naʻá na kamata ke fakatokolahi mo fakakakai ʻa e māmaní.”11

Naʻe ʻikai ke fāʻeleʻi ʻe Līhai mo Selaia, ʻi heʻena tuí, hona ongo foha ko Sēkope mo Siosefá ʻi hona ʻapi ʻi Selusalemá, ʻa ē ne ʻi ai ʻa e koulá, silivá, mo e ngaahi meʻa mahuʻingá. Naʻe fāʻeleʻi kinaua ʻi he maomaonganoá. Naʻe lea ʻa Līhai ʻo kau ki hono foha ko Sēkopé ko ia hono “ʻuluaki foha ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo ʻeku mamahí ʻi he feituʻu maomaonganoá.”12 Naʻe pehē ʻe Līhai ʻo kau kia Siosefa ʻo pehē, “Naʻe fāʻeleʻi koe ʻi he feituʻu maomaonganoá [ʻo ʻemau] ngaahi faingataʻaʻiá; ʻio, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho [ʻo ʻemau] mamahi lahi tahá naʻe fanauʻi ai koe ʻe hoʻo faʻeé.”13

ʻI he tohi ʻEkesōtosí, naʻe mali ai ha tangata mo ha fefine, pea ʻi heʻena ngāue ʻaki ʻa e tuí, naʻe ʻi ai ʻena pēpē tangata. Naʻe ʻikai tuʻu he matapaá ha fakaʻilonga ke fanongonongo ʻa hono fāʻeleʻí.
