Church Broadcast Overview

Last Updated: 9 September 2016 at 16:00

Viewing Church broadcasts in meetinghouses requires local units to choose a solution for the reception and playback of broadcast events such as general conference, CES devotionals, and regional stake conferences. Streaming of Mormon Messages into the meetinghouse does not fall under this category.

Under the direction of Church headquarters and the local area or stake president and based on the equipment available at each location, solutions for viewing Church broadcasts are recommended and implemented by the technology specialist, in conjunction with the local FM group or area office as required.

Overview

In order to reach the largest possible audience, Church broadcast events are distributed through a variety of channels, including Internet, satellite, and DVD. Receiving locations can then select the best option for receiving the event based on its capabilities and needs. More information on how a local unit can receive and play back Church broadcasts is found on the Church Broadcast Checklist.
