When to Conduct Audits

Overview

To ensure that funds are received and spent appropriately, financial audits are conducted twice each year:

  • Midyear audits, covering January through June of that year, are conducted between July 15 and the end of August. They should be reviewed and signed off by the stake audit committee and stake president prior to the submission due date of September 15.
  • Year-end audits, covering July through December of the previous year, are conducted between January 15 and the end of February. They should be reviewed and signed off by the stake audit committee and stake president prior to the submission due date of March 15.

The stake president may request an audit at other times, such as after a new stake president or bishop is set apart. Such audits are not submitted.
