Here’s a stirring invitation to walk in light.

With some fun Brazilian flavor!

Did you know that Teach Me to Walk in the Light was a Primary song before it was added to the hymnbook?1

The first verse is a child (or anyone, really) asking for help. The second verse is a parent or teacher responding. The third verse is a prayer to Heavenly Father.

It’s a beautiful, simple song reminding us that God wants to help us return to Him.

Here’s a Portuguese version of the song from a Face to Face for Youth event. Scroll down for the original lyrics in English.

We’ll share another song about prayer tomorrow, so be sure to check back again!

To Think About

What are some ways you can teach others to “walk in the light” even if you’re not officially a teacher?

Teach Me to Walk in the Light

Teach me to walk in the light of his love;
Teach me to pray to my Father above;
Teach me to know of the things that are right;
Teach me, teach me to walk in the light.

Come, little child, and together we’ll learn
Of his commandments, that we may return
Home to his presence, to live in his sight—
Always, always to walk in the light.

Father in Heaven, we thank thee this day
For loving guidance to show us the way.
Grateful, we praise thee with songs of delight!
Gladly, gladly we’ll walk in the light.
