You Are Eternal

The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form; both limb and joint shall be restored to its proper frame, even as we now are at this time (Alma 11:43).

Instructions: Trace puppet pattern. Place pattern on folded piece of plain colored fabric, then cut out. Now place pattern on folded piece of plain white fabric. Draw and color boy (or girl, mother, father) figure in trousers on colored fabric and boy in robe on white fabric. Place drawing of boy in trousers face down on colored fabric and sew together using 2.5 centimeter seam and leaving bottom open. To finish bottom, turn bottom ends up 2.5 centimeters and sew. Turn puppet inside out so that seams are on inside. Repeat sewing procedures for white fabric.

For family home evening lesson, use puppets to teach about journey through life. The white fabric puppet represents the spirit, which lived in pre-earth life with Heavenly Father. To represent when the spirit receives a mortal body at birth, slip colored-fabric puppet over spirit puppet. At death the body and spirit are separated again for a while. Remove boy puppet from spirit puppet. The body is buried, but the spirit lives on. At resurrection body and spirit will be joined again.
