First Presidency Easter Greeting

At this sacred time of year when the Christian world pays special homage to the sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, we add our own solemn witness to that of others—that His is, indeed, “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” He is the promised Messiah, the Redeemer, the Prince of Peace. We testify that only through adherence to His teachings and His example can the world hope to find true peace.

In much of the world it is springtime, a time when the earth, the trees and flowers recover from the dead of winter. Springtime is symbolic of the Savior’s resurrection. Just as spring inspires renewed hope and new life, so does the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This transcendent event of nearly two thousand years ago provides renewal for all who are willing to overcome sin and who seek to pattern their lives after His.

It is our sincere prayer that the Spirit of Christ will touch the hearts of people everywhere, especially the leaders of nations, that they will be susceptible to His divine influence and seek to live in a spirit of peace and brotherhood with their neighbors.

We further pray that all people may more fully understand the significance of the atonement of the Savior, who has provided for us a plan, a way of life, whereby we may find personal and family peace and true happiness in this life and beyond.
