Young Women Celebration

A Challenge to Greatness

More than 330,000 Young Women worldwide joined last month (November) in a commemoration of the organizations’s 120th anniversary.

In 1869, President Brigham Young called together his daughters to form what was then known as the Young Ladies Retrenchment Society. The same bell he used to summon his daughters was used again by President Ezra Taft Benson as part of the anniversary celebration.

Special messages to Young Women were delivered by President Benson, and Sister Ardeth G. Kapp, Young Women general president. The text of their messages is reproduced here.
