Inside back cover: “Ammon and King Lamoni” by Scott Snow. During his mission to the Lamanites, Ammon, one of the sons of Mosiah, journeyed to the Land of Ishmael. He was arrested and brought before Lamoni, the king of the land. Ammon found favor in Lamoni’s eyes and was allowed to remain and work as a servant in the king’s house. Later, Ammon was able to save the king’s flocks from being scattered by enemies. King Lamoni wanted to know more about Ammon. Ammon stood before the king and answered his questions about God, Jesus Christ and the gospel. King Lamoni was overcome by the Spirit and was converted. Soon many of Lamoni’s people followed his example and they became a great strength in establishing the Kingdom of God among the Lamanites. (See Alma 17–19.)
