Follow the Prophet

Following the prophets helps us to be happy. Learning about the prophets helps us to follow them.

Use the instructions below to make a face frame that will help you learn about—and remember to follow—the prophets.

Instructions

1. Mount pages 6–7 on sturdy cardboard. Cut out the face frame and each name tag. Also cut along the dotted line on each side of the name tag already on the face frame.

2. Fold the tabs on each name tag. (The tabs go into the slits on the face frame, so you can change the name tags.) Wear the face frame while you tell each prophet’s story as found in the following scriptures. Or, where available, sing the verse of “Follow the Prophet” (Children’s Songbook, 110–11) as you “become” each prophet. Remember to change the name tag on your face frame to match each story or each verse of the song!

Adam—See Moses 5:4–12, 58–59.

Enoch—See Moses 6:26–28; Moses 7:13–21.

Noah—See Gen. 6–8.

Abraham—See Abr. 1:1–20, 29–31.

Moses—See Ex. 3; Num. 14.

Samuel—See 1 Sam. 1; 1 Sam. 3:1–10.

Jonah—See Jonah 1–3.

Daniel—See Dan. 6.

Note: If you want to “be” President Gordon B. Hinckley on television, make a television face frame. Cut out the middle of a large piece of paper or cardboard, draw knobs or buttons along the bottom, and color the television face frame (see illustration at left).
