Nauvoo—Carthage Jail

Visit the restored Carthage Jail, where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were martyred. You can also tour the visitors’ center and walk through the beautiful gardens, where a life-size statue pays tribute to Joseph and Hyrum.
