The Importance of the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible
One of the first assignments the Lord gave the Prophet Joseph Smith was to translate the Book of Mormon. During the translation, the Prophet asked many questions, which the Lord answered. Many of those revelations became sections of the Doctrine and Covenants (for examples, D&C 3; 5–6; 8–10).
