How to Use Interactive Transcripts

Notice

Please be aware that over the next few months, LDS Media Library will begin transitioning to an updated interface. As a result of this transition, some interactive video transcript features—such as the ability to trim, share, or clip to a specific part of the video—will be unavailable while we update site capabilities. We anticipate that these features will be available again in the early months of the upcoming year. However, we would like to emphasize that you can still trim a video or clip to a specific part of a video by using our LDS Media Library app. To learn more, please visit our Android and iOS app user guides.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding!

The Media Library now has interactive transcripts available for select videos. Interactive transcripts are displayed below the video source and allow the user to interact with the video in different ways. Each word is clickable, and the user can search for a specific word and navigate to that exact point in the video by clicking the word. As the user watches the video, the transcript highlights each word as it is spoken, allowing the user to follow along with the audio.

Interactive transcripts also allow the user to clip a specific part of the video by selecting that portion of the text. The user can then share that clip with a shortened link or on social media. The shared link includes the entire video, but will start and stop playing where clipped. Viewers can watch the entire video from the shortened link.
