One of the things that you
learn from that First Vision was that the heavens
are open, and God is anxious to communicate with
His children upon the earth, provided they ask for it. What can you do
in your own lives now as you go forward to be
entitled to personal revelation in your own life? You'll need to have that. Who am I going to marry?
What job to take. Yeah, what's my
occupation going to be?
What about my family? So let's talk about how you
can increase the likelihood that you can receive personal
revelation to guide you in your decisions. It's really exercising
the gift of the Holy Ghost in your favor. Some people have the gift, and
they've never unwrapped it. Mm-hmm. So we'd like to take
the ribbon off the gift and talk about the actual
gift of the Holy Ghost and your ability to
receive revelation. Do you have any thoughts
on that, any experience? Landon, go ahead. Well, you can
increase your ability to receive revelation by staying
worthy and repenting often. Being worthy, repenting often. Well, repentance is
continuous, isn't it. I think repentance is often
misunderstood by people. They think that if
they've broken a window, they need to repair the
window, and that repentance is complete, which it is. But repentance really means
living more like Jesus. So, the scriptures say that
I'm supposed to call everybody to repentance,
even my colleagues, and they're to call
me to repentance. We're to cry repentance
to all the people, which means be converted, love the
Lord, obey His commandments. So repenting often is a
very good comment, Landon. Thank you very much. We repent every day. Not that we've made
serious mistakes, but if you practice a piano,
you'll get better on the piano, and you become just a little
more proficient in whatever you're trying to do. Good. Any other thoughts? Please, Nauvoo. I think making sure your
relationship with Heavenly Father is strong. That's a really
big part of being able to receive revelations. And how do you do that? Talking to him often,
praying to him. Yeah. It's called prayer, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Isn't it a wonderful thing that
you can converse with Heavenly Father anytime you want? Any of you have smartphones? You can call pretty
much any time you want, but you have to pay
monthly service fees. You have to make sure your
battery's charged every night. But with prayer, you don't
have to do any of that. Heavenly Father has
made it possible for us to communicate with him. And as we do, it makes
it more possible for him to give us personal revelation.
