Here Am I

Solos to Sing, Submitted Music

I did not kneel in rev’rence before the newborn babe.

I did not hear the Master’s voice as he walked upon the waves.

I did not see the lame man walk, or blind man see the light,

Or abide with Him ‘ere He walked to Gethsemane that night.

Yet, here am I.   He made me all that I am.

Here am I and I can feed His lambs.

The life He’s given me is just where He would have me be.

His words upon a hillside, they fell on others ears.

In glory and magnificence to many He appeared.

He blessed the children one by one, then prayed for them the same

And they could look up at His face, and call Him by name.

Still, here am I, I’ve never seen His face.

Here am I, but I have felt His grace.

And I could not ask for more than what I know within my soul.

He lived for me, died for me, left a path behind.

And He still helps the lame to walk and gives sight to the blind.

He is my Savior and my friend, I’ll follow Him until the end.

And then, one day I will see what only faith could show to me.

For there He’ll be, before my own two eyes.

That is enough. Until that day, here am I.

I have Not Seen, Yet I Believe

1. They heard His voice; they saw His face,

The promised Savior come to earth in days long past,

They saw Him heal the sick and cause the lame to stand,

They watched as wind and waves were stilled at His command,

And though I did not see him calm the raging seas,

His hand has calmed my troubled heart, and I believe.

Chorus

They saw Him scourged, And mocked to scorn,

They heard the angry crowd, They saw Him crowned with thorns,

They watched Him bend beneath our burden in the streets,

They saw the bitter nails that pierced His hands and feet,

And though I was not there to watch with them at Calvary,

My spirit weeps, I have not seen, Yet I believe!

2. They heard His voice, They saw His face,

The risen Jesus, crowed with vict’ry o’er the grave,

And though I did not see His triumph over death,

Though I did not see Him draw immortal breath,

I know He lived and died and lives again for me,

My faith is sure, I have not seen, yet I believe.

3. They heard His voice; they saw His face,

They heard His teaching of forgiveness, love and faith.

He blessed their little ones, He taught them how to pray,

He fed the multitudes who hungered by the way,

And though I did not taste the bread He bade them eat,

His word is manna to my soul, and I believe.
