Thou Shalt Love the Lord Thy God
March 1987

“Thou Shalt Love the Lord Thy God,” New Era, Mar. 1987, 10–11

In Tune:

Thou Shalt Love the Lord Thy God

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy heart, might, mind, and strength,

And in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve Him.

1. As children (daughters) of God we yearn to know and do his will.

In loving God and serving Him we’ve cov’nants to fulfill.

The reward will be so great if we could only see,

For Heav’nly Father loves us so and wants us to succeed.

The little acts we do each day will show our depth of love.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy heart, might, mind, and strength,

And in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve Him.

2. At times a loving voice,

A word of thoughtfulness or cheer,

Can help the sadness in a heart to gently disappear.

And a friendly list’ning ear, a kind and loving smile,

A joyful song, an outstretched hand, can make life seem worthwhile.

Each person has a special way of showing God his love.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy heart, might, mind, and strength,

And in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve Him.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy heart, might, mind, and strength.

And in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve, thou shalt serve Him.
