Graduation

Anxious to be graduated?

Marching up the aisle

And all of that?

Remember—

Measuring cups are graduated, too,

With small red marks

Marching up the side

Showing just how full.

Too much of this or that

Becomes a waste, a spill.

As for me—

Pour in knowledge, wisdom,

All you can.

For I am infinitely deep,

And only overflow with gratitude.
