Summer Daze

The meaning of life was most often discussed

(though never discovered)

As we sat on the trestle,

Dangling naked feet into meters of air.

Musical rushing water below

And wind-chime dancing leaves above

Made quiet and solitude complete.

Swimsuit-clad bodies

Turned toasty brown,

As we plunked round pebbles

Into the river’s laughing arms.
