On June 3, 2018, President Russell M. Nelson and his wife, Wendy W. Nelson, invited all the youth in the Church to “enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord” and take part in “the greatest challenge, the greatest cause, and the greatest work on earth.”
That challenge is the gathering of Israel.
Are you ready to join and do your part?
“There is nothing of greater consequence,” President Nelson said. “Absolutely nothing. This gathering should mean everything to you. This is the mission for which you were sent to earth.”
What exactly is the gathering? “Anytime you do anything that helps anyone—on either side of the veil—take a step toward making covenants with God and receiving their essential baptismal and temple ordinances, you are helping to gather Israel. It is as simple as that.”
You can read all of President and Sister Nelson’s talks in the “Hope of Israel” booklet, or go online to hopeofisrael.lds.org to read or watch their devotional. Check back on youth.lds.org and in the New Era to read more about how you can enlist in the battalion of youth.
I learned a lot in this devotional! I know that following the counsel of the prophet will help us grow spiritually and reach our greatest potential as sons and daughters of God.

Being out on my mission here in Brazil, I was able to watch a small part of the devotional with a recently baptized family. The next day when we passed by, they absolutely loved it and want to do everything to get to the temple. Thank you so much, President Nelson!

This was so comforting to hear. I’m grateful to know that even though it might not be as easy as saying 1, 2, 3, we, as youth, can be a part of the Lord’s latter-day army.

I loved listening to President Nelson and am excited for the Lord’s youth battalion to gather Israel. This week, I gave more of my time to the Lord. I went to the temple a couple of times and learned how to index and find family names!

I loved this devotional. I’ve spent all day watching it over again, thinking about it, and studying For the Strength of Youth. I want to be part of the Lord’s youth battalion!

There’s a young man I’ve always wanted to share the gospel with, but I was afraid. After hearing President Nelson’s words, I shared For the Strength of Youth with him. His reaction surprised me. He gladly accepted it and thanked me for it. I’m so glad I listened to the prophet and followed the Spirit.
