In the ‘Duty to God’ programme young men in their final years complete 8 or more goals from the “Educational, Personal and Career Development” category. They can select from listed goals or write their own. These goals help them become more self-reliant, develop talents, and gain leadership qualities.

The goals with an educational focus included writing a post-secondary education plan and enrolling in courses.

The education plan should include how education might be financed and how the plan contributes to the goal of serving a 2-year full-time mission.

The courses a young person could do include enrolling and participating in a university or vocational school, on-the-job training program, apprenticeship, or internship.  Additionally, with parent approval, a young person could obtain a driver’s license.
