The Planning for Success workshop is described as being the “heart of the prophetic promise” that Gordon B Hinckley gave when he announced initiatives to support education in General Conference in October 2001. He said “With greatly improved opportunities, they will step out of the cycle of poverty which they and those before them have known for so long. They will become leaders in this great work in their native lands. They will pay their tithes and offerings, which will make it possible for the Church to expand its work across the world.” (Ensign, Nov. 2001, 53).
The Planning for Success workshop is an S&I course (no credit) built on 10 years experience and was 2.5 years in development. It is a spiritually focused course that builds on welfare and educational principles to help young people best prepare for pursing education.
