First Presidency Devotional Emphasizes Remembering Christ at Christmas

December 2010

The First Presidency Christmas Devotional is an opportunity each year for the President and his Counselors, who form the presiding council of the Church known as the First Presidency, to bear witness of the Savior and to offer Christmas messages to Church members and others seeking to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. The event is also broadcast on the Church’s satellite system and on stations affiliated with Brigham Young University, bringing the total number of listeners into the hundreds of thousands.

President Thomas S. Monson said that although it requires effort and planning, bringing the Spirit of Christ into our hearts and homes can be accomplished. President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency, spoke about gifts that we can give to the Savior at Christmas, and President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, spoke about reasons to rejoice during the Christmas season.

Full text of the talks will soon be posted. Watch a video of the First Presidency Christmas Devotional now.
