Fear can have two meanings: (1) to fear God is to feel reverence and awe for Him and to obey His commandments; (2) to fear man, mortal dangers, pain, and evil is to be afraid of such things and to dread them.
Prophets stirred up the people continually to keep them in the fear of the Lord,
Alma and the sons of Mosiah fell to the earth, for the fear of the Lord came upon them,
Work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
They who do not fear me, I will disturb and cause to tremble,
He that feareth me shall be looking for the signs of the coming of the Son of Man,
You should not have feared man more than God,
D&C 3:7 ( D&C 30:1, 11; 122:9).
Fear not to do good,
Whosoever belongeth to my church need not fear,
If ye are prepared ye shall not fear,
Strip yourselves from fear,
Be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you,
Fear not thine enemies,
