Seminary Graduation Requirements

Graduation requirements for seminary students are as follows:

Graduation Diploma

The Graduation Diploma is awarded to students who receive certificates of completion for all four courses of study: Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Church History, New Testament, and Old Testament. Students receiving a diploma will receive both a certificate of completion for their final year in seminary and a diploma.

Graduation Diploma Requirements:
Attendance = Yes
Reading = Yes
Learning Assessment = Yes
Endorsement = Yes

Certificate of Completion

The Certificate of Completion is awarded annually to students who receive credit in the current course of study. Credit in seminary is earned when a student (1) meets the attendance requirement, (2) reads the assigned scripture text, and (3) passes the learning assessments. (Makeup work is available for students who have not met the requirements to receive an award.)

Certificate of Completion Requirements:
Attendance = Yes
Reading = Yes
Learning Assessment = Yes
Endorsement = Yes

Certificate of Attendance

The Certificate of Attendance is awarded annually to students who meet the seminary attendance requirement but have not met all of the other requirements for credit.

Certificate of Attendance Requirements:
Attendance = Yes
Reading = No
Learning Assessment = No
Endorsement = No

Beyond Seminary

When a student completes his or her secondary education, he or she should plan on attending institute. The institute program is a great way for students around the world to continue a commitment to Jesus Christ, receive guidance to make important life decisions, and to get involved in fun activities.
